Hampton University Athletics compete in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) and are members of the Big South Conference. The HU Cheerleaders performs at all home football games, as well as men's and women's home basketball games. The season starts early August and ends mid Spring Semester.

Commitment:

All members of the squad must be available the month of

August for mandatory cheer camp. Practices during the

school year are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 5:50pm - 9:00pm.

Additional Information

 

• We have 2 tryouts. Spring tryout for Blue Thunder and fall tryout for any addional positions needed.

• We do not offer any cheerleading scholarships.

• The cost of cheering: $25 non refundable tryout application fee, $600 (estimate) for UCA camp and cheer items once making the team.

• No video submissions, must tryout in person.
